Baverian Motor Works

Bavarian Motor Works is the full name of BMW. BMW is just an acronym. I'm not sure if they've always been known as BMW or if they started out calling themselves Baverian Motor Works. Obviously that's a ridiculously long name for a car company and no one would want to say that all the time. "I just got a new Bavarian Motor Works 360i!" They probably figured that out pretty quick.
