Motorcycle Farings
Posted By: Dave Date: Wednesday, October 12 2005, at 9:22 a.m.
Farings were originally designed to increase the aerodynamics of a vehicle, but when it comes to motorcycles, they also often serve two other purposes.
1. They serve to protect the rider. Farings can sometimes come all the way down the side to protect the legs.
2. They look cool. Not all do, but for sportier bikes, they're definitely designed to increase the coolness.
When you get right down to it, a motorcycle faring is pretty much the same as a windshield, but sometimes it tends to provide more coverage area.
